Hive Living MCR is a conceptual residential-led regeneration project exploring how underused areas of Manchester can be transformed into vibrant, sustainable urban communities through contemporary architectural visualisation and AI-assisted design workflows.

Hive Living MCR is a conceptual residential-led regeneration project exploring how underused areas of Manchester can be transformed into vibrant, sustainable urban communities through contemporary architectural visualisation and AI-assisted design workflows.

Set within Middlewood Basin, the proposal reimagines a currently overlooked part of the city as a high-density mixed-use neighbourhood centred around landscaped public spaces, green infrastructure, walkability, and striking contemporary architecture. The three sculptural honeycomb towers act as the focal point of the development, creating a distinctive identity on Manchester’s skyline while integrating naturally with the surrounding urban fabric. Developed in just two days, the project combines traditional architectural visualisation techniques with carefully controlled AI-enhanced workflows to dramatically accelerate concept development while maintaining full creative direction and architectural integrity throughout the process. Rather than replacing conventional CGI methods, AI was used strategically to enhance efficiency, iterate faster, and explore atmosphere, landscaping, and urban placemaking at a much greater speed.
